JLL Technologies is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager for IT Configuration Management to join our Global Configuration Management team within the Digital Workspace Services group. This full-time position, based in our Mexico Center of Excellence (COE), will support a global environment of approximately 60,000 Windows workstations, including about 600 AWS Workspace virtual environments.
This role will oversee application lifecycle management, software deployments, system health maintenance, and infrastructure projects. The Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of configuration management projects ranging from routine application updates to large-scale enterprise deployments. A key aspect of this role is leveraging modern AI tools, such as ChatGPT, to enhance productivity, automate repetitive tasks, generate documentation, and provide data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee multiple concurrent projects using established project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches as appropriate) of varying scope and complexity, from small application updates to enterprise-wide deployment initiatives across 60,000+ endpoints.
Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and success metrics for configuration management activities.
Coordinate with Configuration Management, Infrastructure, Security, Application, and business stakeholder teams to prioritize and execute project deliverables.
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for configuration management operations and projects.
Provide executive-level status reporting on project progress, resource utilization, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Facilitate stakeholder communication and alignment across global teams to ensure coordinated project execution and deployment activities.
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices for application deployment, system maintenance, and configuration workflows.
Conduct regular project status meetings, maintain project documentation, and manage change control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify and escalate project risks, dependencies, and blockers; develop mitigation plans and contingency strategies to ensure successful delivery.
Participate in a follow-the-sun global support model for critical project escalations and milestone deliveries.
Mentor and guide team members on project management practices and configuration management processes.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including project charters, deployment plans, status reports, lessons learned, and post-implementation reviews.
Collaborate with Configuration Management teams on large-scale infrastructure projects, application rollouts, and technology lifecycle initiatives.
Maintain current knowledge of configuration management trends, deployment methodologies, and emerging technologies through professional development activities.
Ensure application health monitoring and system maintenance activities are incorporated into ongoing project planning and execution.
AI-Driven Project Optimization: Leverage generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to enhance project management effectiveness and strategic oversight by:
Structuring and Accelerating Project Planning: Generating initial drafts of critical project plans and timelines by outlining a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), suggesting key phases and milestones, and identifying potential task dependencies for common project types.
Enhancing Data Analysis and Risk Identification: Analyzing project data, status reports, and team communications to proactively identify emerging risks and potential bottlenecks that could impact project timelines.
Improving Stakeholder Communication: Drafting clear and concise stakeholder updates, presentations, and project announcements, ensuring targeted and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
Mandatory Technical Skills & Competencies
5+ years of IT project management experience, with at least 2 years managing infrastructure, configuration management, or application deployment projects.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, multi-team projects on time and within budget in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of application lifecycle management, software deployment processes, and endpoint configuration management.
Experience with data analysis and reporting using Excel, Power BI dashboards, and other analytics platforms to drive project insights and decision-making.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with ability to influence and drive results across cross-functional global teams.
Strong prioritization, planning, and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives of varying sizes.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including executive-level presentation and reporting capabilities.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and experience navigating complex technical and organizational challenges.
Self-motivated, reliable individual capable of working independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to enhance project management tasks, including generating status reports, drafting communications, analyzing project data, and identifying potential risks.
Preferable Technical Skills & Competencies
PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent project management certification.
Experience with IT Service Management platforms, particularly ServiceNow for project tracking and ticketing workflows.
Familiarity with endpoint management and deployment tools such as SCCM/MCM, Intune, Active Directory, JAMF, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of application packaging, deployment methodologies, and configuration management best practices.
Experience managing large-scale software deployments in environments with 50,000+ endpoints.
Background working with distributed, global teams across multiple time zones.
Track record of presenting to and collaborating directly with Executive Leadership and business stakeholders.
Experience with system health monitoring, compliance reporting, and operational metrics tracking.
Familiarity with AI-powered tools for project management, automation, risk analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
